FutureGov Networks is in beta, which means we're still working on it. We want it to be useful so tell us what you think and what else you'd like to see and we'll make it happen.
We are a consultancy with a passion for making the most of information and the web to improve the public sector. We want to help government get closer to its customers so that services better meet their needs.
The first of many bits and pieces we're bound to share with you after our visit to the fantastic Personal Democracy Forum in New York last week, here Marc Smith gives you the run down on what he and his colleagues are working on around social network analysis and online relationships.
As I say more of this sort of thing as we catch up on our post-event reading, but for now take a look at the event summary from FutureGov's Carrie as well as what was said on Twitter during the 2 day event.
Oh, and then there's always the recordings of the keynotes brought to you by Civico of course... :)
'Did you know 4.0' updates the hugely successful, 5 million viewed 'Shift Happens' video from 2007.
As the profile on YouTube says, "the video includes facts and stats focusing on the changing media landscape, including convergence and technology, and was developed in partnership with The Economist".
A must watch for all you statos out there - but time for a British version too surely?
This is a really great paper on using technology to get citizens involved in decision-making.
Some great case studies and lessons learned, as well as some useful pointers, with some UK examples as well as some USA ones.
Well worth a read if you're trying to convince your organisation to do things a bit differently.

There's a new blog post over at FutureGov:
Let us know your thoughts - What one interview question would you ask someone going for a public sector leadership job to test whether they truly believe in social innovation and the social web?
"A film project about the power of mass collaboration, government and the internet"
A must watch for govweb (and non-govweb) geeks. To see more, check out the film's website.
