While putting my first post together for November's PDF Europe, I was flicking through videos on YouTube from the New York event earlier this year - and I thought I would share danah boyd's take on online culture and its relationship to offline communities.

Full text of her talk can also be found over on her blog.

At the end of June, I headed over to by far and away the best digital engagement themed conference I've been to so far - the Personal Democracy Forum 2009 in New York.

The stand out presentation without a shadow of a doubt was this presentation from Michael Wesch titled "The Machine is (Changing) Us" about how the internet is changing society. Never before have I seen a standing ovation at a conference but his was truly deserved!

For the rest of the content from the conference, head over to the PDF website (click right/left on the actual video to see others) and also look for PDF coming to Europe in November this year. We hope to be supporting this event so watch this space.

If you're curious to know about my experiences going to NYC as FutureGov's competition winner and attending the impressive Personal Democracy Forum Conference 2009, come check my reporting back on the FutureGov Consultancy website. Another report on with more information from the conference will be written due to popular demand! So stay tune for that! Till then, take care folks! :-)
